It’s funny (or not) how things pop into my head and I want to do whatever popped into my head. A few weeks ago, it was Latvian Braid. I’ve done it before on a cowl. Horrible picture but it’s really a pretty cowl.

When I was putting away the leftover yarn from the Blue Sand sweater, I decided instead of putting away the small pieces of yarn, I’d make a hat using Latvian Braid so I settled on Hoopla, a hat with some colorwork and Latvian Braid. I had to watch a video but I think I got it down.

Dang, that’s a horrible picture. Once the hat is finished, soaked and blocked, I’ll post a better picture. You’re going to love it!

The braid design is beautiful on both of those pieces.

That is going to be very pretty! I love the cowl!

Actually, I already like it! That braid is a nice touch to the hat.

That is going to be a gorgeous hat!

I love Latvian Braid. I’ve made several Christmas Stockings with bands of braid, which have gone to a womens’ shelter. You get a lot of “good looks” for not much work.

I’m of Latvian descent so I’m very interested to see what else you do with Latvian braid.
