I have little faith in my own plans, especially when it comes to knitting projects.
I’ve been working on this list for a while. My plan is to work from this list mostly. That’s not to say I won’t work on other things but I’ll check this list first and hope to stick with the projects on the list. Wish me luck! 🙂
So, here is my list. I’m going to copy this list and add a tab at the top of the blog so if anyone cares to follow along, you’ll find my list and progress easily at the top of the blog.
Curtail Yarn Buying:
My plan is to buy no yarn. I want to say “until the Black Friday sales” but I’m not even giving myself that luxury. I want to see if I can make it just one year without buying anything. If I can do that, then I may be able to allow myself to buy something sometime on sale or when I see something I can’t live without but until I know I can stay within reasonable limits, the answer is NOTHING!
Things I Want to Learn:
I’m not listing any projects for these items because I don’t know what I’ll make but these are the things I want to learn or improve upon:
- Brioche
- Double Knitting
- Latvian Braid
- Steeking
- Improve my Stranded Work
- Improve my Spinning
Finish Projects Started Prior to 1/1/20:
Persistence is Key – This project was started in March, 2019. It’s a beautiful cardigan – loaded with cables and I want to finish it.

Hitofude – While just the swatch is shown below, I have a couple of repeats done on the cardigan.

Tabouli – This one was started in early 2018 and I love it too. It’s so easy for me to keep pushing projects back and starting new ones!

Arkansas River for Vince – I’m a big farther along with this. It’s a fairly new project so it hasn’t been sitting around forever.

Gilda – This is a colorwork sweater and it’s steeked. This was started Thanksgiving day.

Celtic Myths – A shawl started in November, 2019; I’d love to get this finished.
All of the Lights – I started this but using the small needles and the tight cables was killing my wrist and the more I knitted, the pain migrated up to my shoulder. I will swatch on larger needles and see if I can get the look I want without so much stress on the aging wrists.

I would like to make 12 hats this year and maybe I’ll make those for my Color Challenge projects and some of them will maybe be for my Gift Giving Challenge also!

I have no plans yet. I just do whatever I see and like! LOL

Good Luck on your list. I hope to work mostly on mine but it’s hard and it’s only January 2.
Susan Nixon says
You started most of those in the last year, or two years at most. I don’t think that’s so bad. You can do this. You did well last year making yourself finish a UFO before starting a new project, so maybe that’s the way to go. 1 for 1, and the list doesn’t grow. =)
