I’ve been wanting to make a pie because I still have a pie crust in the freezer from Thanksgiving. If I hurry up and use it, I’ll have to make another pie crust for Christmas and since the recipe makes two, that means we get four pies instead of just two! 🙂
Vince loves fried bread dough and Struffoli is basically fried dough rolled in honey, cinnamon and sugar so I figured that was easier and less time consuming than the pie. I made the Struffoli yesterday and will make the pie today.
Every time I do something on the countertop, I’m so thankful that I no longer have that horrible, uneven tile countertop that was here the first couple of years we lived here.
Can you see how uneven that tile was? Can you imagine rolling dough “snakes” like I did this afternoon, or cookie dough or bread dough? Even using a thick plastic pastry sheet, the countertop was so uneven, it was hard. Really, every time I have to roll something out, I tell Vince “Thank you for agreeing to replace those countertops!”
The Stuffoli is made. Vince is a happy husband! 🙂
