Vince was gone four hours. If I had been with him, one of us would be injured or in jail after two hours of shopping.
When he was trying to convince me to go, he said “I’m only going to Walmart and Aldi”. I said “You know you’re going to Home Depot and Big Lots too!” Nope . . he was not!
First, he called me . .
Vince: I found a Black & Decker toaster oven on sale for $29. I think you need it for the MO apartment.
Me: No . . I don’t think so.
We have one here and if we feel like we need one there, I’ll take the one from here. What Vince can’t seem to grasp is that the MO apartment is not permanent and some day, everything we buy for that place has to come back home . . wherever “home” may be. I can handle bringing back a few towels, a few dish towels, an extra set of sheets, a sewing machine, some yarn, but not a duplicate of every single thing we have in this house.
Then he told me he sent me a picture of the toaster oven . . which I didn’t even get til after he got home.
Me: Just tell me about it and I’ll look at it online.
Vince: It’s Black & Decker, 4 slice toaster, convection, bake . . it has two knobs and a digital readout.
I kept looking and I couldn’t find it.
Vince: I just put “Black & Decker toaster oven” in Google and it came right up.
Me: Well, I’m at Walmart.com and I’m not seeing it.
Vince: Because I’m at Home Depot.
Didn’t you tell me you were NOT going to Home Depot?
He got it!
Then, he called and he had found a set of pots for the new place. He was at Burke’s! I said “What are they like?”
Vince: They’re Cuisinart with ceramic coating inside.
Me: No! I don’t like those.
Vince: I thought you did.
Me: No! I want a set similar to the ones I use now.
Vince: But I thought you like ceramic like the one we use for eggs.
Me: No! I like it for eggs but not for other stuff.
Vince: So, you want me to put these back?
Me: Yes, please.
I have another set of pots here but I don’t really like them. The ones I love are a set of Farberware pots I bought in Kentucky when I needed a backup set for a second house and I paid $59 for the entire set and I love them. That’s all I use now and I don’t think they make them any more.
Vince had fun shopping and I think he was happy I wasn’t with him because I know it isn’t fun shopping with me. I want to go in, get what I need and leave. I don’t want to look at things; I don’t want to touch things; I don’t want to pick things up and shake them . . I just want to get out!!

He has such a sweet heart! Do you think you’ll keep/like the new B & D oven? It looks kindof nifty with the air fry.

That sounds so much like my husband and I! He loves to wander, though not so much as Vince. I’d rather just find everything and go home.

There are times I want to look at things but mostly I just want to go in, get out and go home! I do not like to shop this time of year! I think I am turning into Scrooge in my old age!

Ha ha the second home opens a whole new shopping possibility

That post made me laugh. I also don’t like shopping, but neither does my husband, so we’re all set. I always thought that most men don’t like shopping. I’m getting a kick out of Vince’s shopping sprees.

I have a toast oven that fits a pizza and I use it everyday. It fits my small ion skillet for cornbread or a small casserole dish. I would like the larger one that a 9×13 casserole fits. In the summer I use it instead of our cookstove oven to not heat up the kitchen. Or I take it out on the deck.
