Tonight we needed to make room for the fridge so we finished off the tomato soup and smoked salmon. We also ate the curtido and Watergate Salad that wouldn’t fit in their containers to go into the fridge.
So, I guess .. we had leftovers before we had them the first time! We had a discussion and have both decided we like the curtido better than plain sauerkraut. Really, it’s sauerkraut with carrots, onions and hot peppers but don’t tell that to someone from El Salvador. That’s my take on it . . not theirs! 🙂
We are ready for our feast tomorrow. I think the only big thing I have to do is make the rolls. The giblet gravy will be easy – I pressure cooked the gizzards today. I should have bought two packages of gizzards. I love them and ate way too many before they ever made their way to the gravy. Vince doesn’t like the gizzards but likes the flavor they give the gravy so he picks out all his chopped up gizzards and hands them over to me. Yay!
Pie is made, dressing is ready for the final touches. turkey is brining overnight.
I think I’m going to knit til bedtime!
