Oh, the conversations at our house. I think if Alexa or the Google Hub were listening to us, as some think they do, Vince and I would both have been committed by now.
Last night . .
Vince: Is tomorrow Wednesday or Thursday?
Me: Thursday.
Vince: Then . . is today Tuesday or Wednesday?
Me: Today is Monday!
Of course, it was Wednesday but if “tomorrow” is Thursday, today has to be Wednesday but I know what he was doing . . he didn’t think tomorrow is really Thursday and without saying “You’re wrong!”, he was trying to get me to realize it was Tuesday so tomorrow is Wednesday but .. it was Wednesday so tomorrow is Thursday . . I think!
I said “It doesn’t really matter, does it?” Vince said “YES! It does matter . . I like the special at the Mexican restaurant better on Thursday than on Wednesday!
Twenty years ago, if someone had told us we’d be having these types of conversations today, we would never have believed it.
I do have a wall calendar for next year and it starts with December. I’m hanging it in my bathroom and the first thing I will see each morning is the day of the week . . no more wondering and guessing.

I have seen a clock I am very tempted to buy – instead of hours, it shows the day of the week! I have started ticking days off on the calendar to try and make sure I know what day of the week it is! Not that it really matters all that much – well, this week does because I have to figure out what day I will drop my shoeboxes off and the times are different on different days….

I think we have this conversation on a daily basis. In fact I just asked what the date was with the calendar hanging right here beside me. I was on the wrong week. LOL Isn’t it fun???

We have a atomic clock in the living room that has date, day of the week, temperature in the room and time it saves us stressing over that question.

I keep telling my husband I want a chalkboard on the wall so I can write the day of the week and date each day like I did for over 20 years as a teacher. I retired 12 years ago and wonder what day it is at least once a week!
Linda in NE says
I just look at the date in the lower right hand corner of my computer screen. If still in doubt I click on it & it tells me the day. Some days I really need that. Days just seem to run together sometimes.

When I get confused, I check my phone. It has the day of the week on the lock screen…

We have calendars hanging all over our house and in the garage and shops. Doesn’t help as he still looks at his phone to see what day or time it is …Same with clocks all over the place and still asks what time it is ..

I just heard a news report yesterday morning on KDKA radio in Pittsburgh, and Alexa actually DOES listen to everything that’s going on. They said that the recordings have been used in court to convict people in murder trials!! They even said that in some instances, there were actual people listening; not just having it recorded. According to the report, the use of people listening has now been stopped, but recordings are still being made of everything that’s going on in people’s homes. Not that I have anything to hide, but I don’t want to have everything I say recorded for posterity!! No thanks, Alexa!!
Nelle Coursey says
Put a pen in there so you can check the days off or you might get in the same spot! Of course your phone and computer always have the date and time on them. LOL
Susan Nixon says
I won’t say I never get lost in the days of the week, but I will say it helps to have to keep tabs on Sunday each week. LOL
Donna in KS says
……it certainly does!
