Yarn Buying Attempt

Project Interruptions

Yesterday Vince and I had to run to town to take a couple of packages to the post office. When we left, we saw that the guys were back working on the internet tower. We did what we needed to do in town, and a few things we hadn’t planned on doing and were gone a couple of hours. We were surprised to see that they were still there working but we went on to the house.

I checked the internet and Eat, Sleep, Knit was having a Flash “sale” where you got double yardage credit but it ended at 1 p.m. their time, which is noon my time. It was 11:51 when I saw it so I grabbed a couple of patterns I was thinking of making and started looking at yarn, all the while watching the clock. I had several skeins in my cart and 2 minutes to spare and . . BAM . . no internet! We knew they were going to move our “connection” down lower on the tower because of our proximity to the tower but not while I’m trying to check out with my yarn!

Yep, the internet was down for probably 5 minutes and 1:00 p.m. ESK time came and went.

Our cell phones only work on wifi so no internet means no cell service so I couldn’t even use my phone to order.

I looked at Vince and I guess I had that “I’ve just been defeated” look on my face and he asked what was wrong. I told him the story. He said “I’ll go out and ask them to plug us back in real quick so you can check out!” That . . from the guy who cannot believe I would ever buy more yarn! I told him no . . I didn’t need anything really and the “sale” had already ended.

I really didn’t need yarn so it’s not a big deal that I missed out but it was kinda funny how it happened.

From the man who says you buy too much yarn! He loves it that you want to do this while he is watching TV or reading his books. He is just trying to make you think he doesn’t want you to buy it!
