Pig Stand BBQ Sauce is made in Louisiana and it’s one of those things you miss when you can’t get it. Since Chad smokes and grills so much, he uses a lot of BBQ sauce. He called the other day to see if we can buy it here. I told him I’d check so today we went to Walmart, Aldi, United and Brookshire’s looking for it. I seriously doubted Aldi would have it but I kinda thought Walmart might but nope . . no one had it.
Chad had checked Amazon and it was really expensive there. I told him I’d be in Louisiana in a couple of months and I’d pick up a case then. He doesn’t get nearly as much vacation time as he got with his previous job so he hasn’t been to Louisiana in months and months, where he had been going every couple of months but, with Addie in school, those trips were getting harder anyway.
Then I found Cajun Crate online and their Pig Stand wasn’t outrageously expensive, and shipping was reasonable so I ordered six bottles for Chad. Told him he could have four bottles and I’d bring two home with me.
I also found a couple of copycat type recipes for Pig Stand or Jack Miller’s, both of which are great and neither of us can find, so maybe I’ll try making my own of it and see how that goes.

I’ve never heard of that brand. I’ll have to try it out.

My husband loves Jack Miller and Pig Stand. We get a couple of bottles every time we go to La. I am going to try the copycat recipe too. Nice to have if he runs out of the bottled stuff! Thanks for posting the link.

Have you tried Rudy’s (from Texas)? I love to eat at Rudy’s when I’m in Texas. I love the sauce and found a knock-off recipe online that is almost identical.

Easy to make, this Louisiana girl always makes her own.

Is it hot? What is it like? I’m presuming neither Carolina nor Kansas City types.
