We had to go to Abilene today for a medical appointment so we took Rita for her vet visit. Her eye pressure was ok – under control with medication. She also got her annual shots. Poor baby.
After the doctor visit, we went to Jason’s Deli and ate – good as always! Then we went to the Green Grocer. I love that store. We got three different varieties of sweet potatoes, several different greens, barley to make a mushroom/barley soup this week. From there, we went to Sam’s Club where we bought a couple of chuck roasts, a package of ribeyes and a pork butt. I like Sam’s meat.
I had heard about these socket shelves and was happy to see them at Sam’s. This house is so short on electric plugs. We laughingly say that the green house has more electric plugs than does our entire house. Not quite true but almost. This is going to be so useful for electronic devices.
From Sam’s, we went back by the vet, got Rita and headed back home. We ended up stopping in our town for Vince to go to Goodwill, where I stayed in the car with Rita; then he stopped at Aldi, where I again stayed in the car with Rita, then we went home.
There really weren’t many stops but we left here at 8:30 this morning and got home about 5:00 and we’re both tired!
I’m hoping tomorrow to be able to stay home all day . . but don’t I say that every day? 🙂

Judy, glad you had a good day away from home. Glad you got to eat at Jason’s Deli. We love earting lunch there when we are in Las Vegas/Henderson (near Quiltique). Great lunches! You can’t go wrong. Wish we had them here in California. Glad to hear good news for Rita… We picked up on a great sale at BB and Beyond and got a cheap quilt for cheap and some shams. It was fun. The colors were all right. Right on. The fabric is cheap, stitching is not straight et c. It will work until I can make a new navy/grey/white quilt and shams. DH is still redoing all the walls ( bathroom is all being updated/redone). We take off on the 10th for an overnight in Torrance, CA. The folloing day we drop off the rental car, board our cruise ship and take a 16 day cruise from Long Beach thru 3 ports in Mexico where we have been several times thru the Panama Canal/Guatamala, Costa Rica and Aruba to Miami. This has been on our bucket list for years. We gave up our small balcony room for a 2 bd/rm, 2 bath and living/dining room suite. Under 200 sq feet for the balcony room to a 561 sq ft , 2 bedroom, 2 bath suite with a living room. I think we are not going to miss our small balcony, and for 16 days and nights, will really enjoy having some space and a second bathroom. We don’t spend alot of time in our room during a 7 days cruise, but some space where I can read, choose what I want to watch on tv, sleep in another room when DH snores might be great for me. Not costing an extra dime. Concierge level but an inside suite. Should be sweet! We can have wifi, but we choose to be phone less/wifi less etc. No calls, no nothing. I sleep like a baby on a cruise ship. We choose not to bake on the pool deck on sea days. If we want to nap, we do but rarely. Not big in the drinking but may have a drink or beer or glass of wine during the day. After all, we are on vacation and don’t have to drive. Not big drinkers, but will do on vacation what we never do at home which is drink during the day. Can’t wait for 16 days where I don’t have to cook! Or answer a phone. Or make our bed. Or clean a bathroom or do laundry. A total vacation!

Those socket shelves look awesome! Our new house is short on outlets, what with all the knob and tube wiring, that should hopefully be done being replaced today! I’ll have to look for them since we don’t belong to Sam’s. Amazon or Best Buy must have something similar!

When we go to Billings it’s the same thing–we leave early and get home late.

My house also has a shortage of plugins and there is only one with the ground plug on the main floor. Also only two plugins on exterior walls in the whole house. Extension cords are my friends. LOL
When I go shopping in our nearest regional shopping town it’s also an all day affair including an hour on the road each way. That town has also lost enough stores that it just isn’t what it used to be. Online shopping is what I depend on more and more. Getting most things delivered to the door is a definite plus. I really don’t enjoy all the driving like I used to.

Not too bad a day, but long. I’m glad Rita’s eye pressure is good. That socket looks so interesting, but because of where my ONE bathroom socket is, I couldn’t use it because the door of the cabinet would smack into it. sigh It would be so lovely to have the Sonicare toothbrush up out of the way like that.

I’m not using mine in the bathroom. I’ll probably put it in the kitchen.
