Yesterday Vince felt just awful and I knew he wasn’t going to want to eat much at all. I began thinking of all the possibilities that I could fix for myself.
Tamales and chili! Not exactly the food you think of eating when it’s 97 degrees outside but I was ready for tamales and chili. There were Zwolle (Louisiana) tamales in the freezer, homemade canned chili in the pantry.
Tamales, homemade yogurt in place of sour cream, homemade chili, cheese, black olives and browned jalapeno peppers.
I love having options – there’s always food in the freezer, in jars or freeze dried and, within reason, we can find almost anything we want to eat around here.
Vince slept most of the day and still isn’t feeling great today. He ate a little leftover chicken soup yesterday but didn’t feel like eating. So far today, he hasn’t feel great. I made biscuits and scrambled eggs this morning. That sounded like a good thing to me . . if I felt bad. He did eat some but he’s back in bed. Hoping the antibiotics kick in and he starts feeling better soon.
