You may remember that last year I was in Hobby Lobby and saw the cutest sample vest that was made from some “hide” looking fabric with a fleecy type underside. I wrote this post about it.
The fabric they had was kind of sparkly and I knew Addie would love it but they were out of it. I called Hobby Lobby in Abilene and they were also out of it. When I went to MO, I ran by Hobby Lobby in Joplin and they were out of it. Every store had the same sample vest hanging so I know why the fabric was all snatched up so quickly.
I ended up buying this fabric to make it.
Then I found this fabric at JoAnn’s, which is machine washable and the first one wasn’t, so I bought it.
Today we were in Hobby Lobby (yes, WE . . I did not get to go shopping by myself). I went to look for buttons for the pink sweaters and as I walked past a row of fabric . . there was the sparkly fleece backed fabric I had wanted so badly last year.
It does have to be dry cleaned but hopefully, as a vest, it won’t get too dirty. Nicole has the stuff to do “dry cleaning” at home. So, I got it! I could not remember the pattern so I looked it up on the blog, got the pattern number. They didn’t have the pattern but I was able to google it and get the fabric requirements.
I would love to get this made for her before I go back but . . that may or may not happen. I was pretty happy to find the fabric.

I saw that very vest in Hobby Lobby and thought it was so cute. Springfield did not have the fabric either. Either everyone really liked it and it sold out or someone didn’t order enough fabric for the stores. Mine is not finished yet, but fall is around the corner.
