I’ll apologize right off the bat to those who love cats. I do love Boots and I think I love Cat. Both of those cats showed up here. I didn’t go looking for a cat. For the life of me, I cannot figure out why anyone puts up with a cat – me or you!
Boots is the sweetest kitty . . when he feels like being sweet. Otherwise . . stay out of his path. Maybe he’s a Sicilian cat! 🙂
One day a friend was over and we were petting Boots and all of sudden, he went nuts. He was biting . . not really being mean or trying to attack but we had been in his space long enough and he was ready for us to leave. I told my friend “Call animal control because our animal is out of control!”.
Today I was trying to move some jars from one closet to another. He is not supposed to be in those closets so where does he want to be? In the closet! He ran in when I was walking in the door, went straight to the top of the shelves.
I knew I couldn’t get him so I just left him and went about my business. Then, every time I went in there, he’d come almost close enough for me to grab him . . like he was saying “catch me if you can”.
Dogs are so much easier to deal with than cats. No pets would be even easier but I’ll always have some kind of a pet.

I loved my cats and I love my dogs. But I think when these are gone there will be no more pets. I just can’t handle it any more. Especially the big dogs. That was Pat’s idea, he just had to have one more chow. I do love her but sometimes I think we made a mistake in getting another dog.

awww…so precious .. We had to put our 10 year old rescue dog down on Monday as she just couldn’t walk anymore or hold her umm potty, poop, her vision was getting worse, . It was hard, I was crying and my hubs was upset as well. Them critters just get into your heart and rip it out when its time for the rainbow bridge.
Despite it all .. love him anyway, Cat too and Rita ….hugs and kisses for those furbabies of yours !

My brother had a cat who would rub on you to be petted. She’d be purring to beat the band, and while she was being petted and purring, SHE’D BITE YOU!!! Crazy cat!

They(cats) aren’t really biting you. It is more like a nibble. If they bite you it would leave marks and hurt. The thing to do is when they start to act like biting is about to occur say “NO” very loudly. They will stop. Then each time do the same thing. They will stop doing in in time. It is really just them showing you affection but on their level not ours. Our cat( George) is 21 lbs Chinese short hair. He came to us as a ferrel I’ve had to stop him from bitting me several times. He doesn’t do it hard just a nibble but I hollar “Stop it No” and he stops in his tracks. He loves on us gives us head butts and purrs so loud ,he also talks to us.Loves to have his stomach rubbed too. Plays like crazy and loves everybody who comes in the house ad I do mean everybody. Just keep after Boots with “NO” he will get the picture.

We don’t let our cats in our bedroom, so we have to be vigilant about closing the door behind us. Cats are curious (remember the old saying?) and because we don’t let them go in there they want in. Especially the younger one. She’ll sneak in FAST!
Like the others have said, biting without breaking the skin is a show of affection and trust with a cat. Not all do it, and those who do vary in the frequency. Some bite more than others. Our youngest bites all the time – the oldest not so much.
