Button Decision Time

The Winterfell Cardi is dry and I can add the ribbon and buttons . . after I make the second sleeve for Addie’s Unicorn sweater.

I’ve narrowed it down to these two. Since the sweater has some purple, I love this peacock button with the brown/gold and purple.

I also love the dragonfly button.

Please leave me a comment and let me know: Peacock or Dragonfly. Majority rules . . unless someone says something in a comment that I hadn’t thought about and makes me completely rule out one of these choices.

  1. I’m no help because I love them both. The peacock is one I keep going back to considering buying but I decided I’d wait until I actually have a sweater in the works to use them on.

  4. Dragonfly – both are beautiful buttons, but the dragonfly seems to pop more against the yarn. This is based on the first picture. Good luck!

  14. By the look of things, it wouldn’t matter what I prefer….which is a good thing because I love them both!! 🙂 I was leaning towards the dragonfly, but either one would be beautiful.

  17. Dragonfly looks perfect with color and all. The peacock is nice but for another sweater if it were my choice.

  18. So here’s what I do when I have a decision like this to make. I take off my glasses and that makes everything blurry but the color. I am super nearsighted so I hold the picture about 18 inches from my face. The dragonfly blends and the peacock shows lighter. (That is if colors are true). So I would want the buttons to go with the sweater (personal choice) so I would pick the dragonfly. Maybe you would prefer the contrast. The contrast one would draw your eye up and down. Honestly they are both adorable. I’m glad it’s your decision!

  19. i think the dragonfly because addie would have seen those before. has she even seen a peacock? but, either would be fine.

    I feel the peacock needs to be against a different color to really show off.

  32. I love dragonflies, but I am the odd man out it seems, because contrary to previous opinions, I think the peacock would be best, because it picks up all of the colors in the yarn.

  36. Dragonfly gets my vote too. Love them both but that won seems to stand out more on the sweater.

  37. I agree with the crowd, love the way the golden tones of the dragonfly button play with the tones of the yarn. And a Dragonfly in Amber? How can you go wrong?

  42. Hmm, no contest I see. Either one would be nice, but I’m not sure the purple is close enough to the peacock to effectively pull out the purples. On the other hand, if I were buying the sweater, I wouldn’t complain about the peacock, either, so that tells me that either one will be just fine.

  43. I like the dragonfly button. I feel like the peacock button will get lost against that beautiful yarn.

  46. My first choice was the dragonfly just by looking at the picture of both. So then I blocked the dragonfly and realized that the peacock made the lighter colors pop out. And i liked that. So then I covered the peacock and WOW the dragonfly really pulled the golden colors and looked much richer.
