This is another sweater I’d like to finish soon. Only a few more inches to go on the body, then the sleeves and it will be done. I think that will be three, maybe four, sweaters that are waiting on sleeves.
The color in the photo is definitely off. It’s more of a golden brown and there’s quite a bit of purple in the yarn. This is a sport weight yarn (Madelinetosh). My favorite weight for a snuggly cardigan is DK and my next favorite is sport.
Since most of the buttons I ordered arrived while I was away, and since my new obsession seems to be buttons, I’ve been going through my button box to find the perfect button for this sweater. Since the top (neck) ribbing is already done and it’s a bit narrow, I need to make the button band a bit smaller so the buttons will have to be on the smaller side.
These were some I auditioned this morning and ruled out. The only one that may work is the bottom one. That particular small picture doesn’t show much light colored yarn so the white background is kinda bright. This one is .86″, which will mean the button band has to be probably about 1-1/2″ to look right and I think that will be an ok size.
The one shown below is about .70″, which is probably a better size. It hasn’t come in yet.
I’ll wait for these to arrive before I make the button band. We all know I have plenty to keep me busy til then.

I love the bottom strongly one.

I think the dragonfly color will look great on that sweater. But you bought one of my favorite buttons – that yellow flower is one I go back to every time I look at buttons.

You do have some beautiful buttons there; I really do like the dragonflies!

I like the topmost button, but not for this sweater. The dragonfly looks perfect for it, but you said the yarn color is off. I like the color it is, and that ribbing, or whatever it’s called, that goes diagonally through it is a great design feature. If I knitted, I would want to try this one.
