Chad made a gorgeous table. He was just starting to scrape it smooth when I got to town. That first night, he had a pile of yellow shavings on the floor. He uses a hand planer for all this type of work . . because he loves the old planers.
I think the wood is osage orange. I’ll ask him to be sure. In those areas that are cracks or bug holes . . heck, I don’t know what they are and he probably wouldn’t appreciate my description, but he poured some kind of resin in that he had colored with mica powder. It’s just gorgeous. I think I want it!
He bout the legs . . they’re just metal but I think it’s such a gorgeous table and, of course, I’m proud of him and his love of creating.

That is nice! Hard to get it to Texas, though (even if he would give it up).
What height is it? It would be a great coffee table, or a fun dinner table.

That’s a beautiful table. So creative. I have Joanna Gaines book, “Home Body”. I am decorator challenged but I love to look at pretty pictures and this book has lots of them. In the book she talks about style and gives descriptions to each style. I see lots of pictures that use those black metal legs and the beauty of natural wood. You are right to be proud of what he’s made, you’re creative ways have guided him.

It IS beautiful and I think it is osage orange, too. That’s what I used to watch the Amish fellas do at the folk festivals.
