She’s Running Me Ragged

As Addie gets older, she keeps me hopping and at the end of the day, I am worn out.

Yesterday was our day to go to go to Joplin. She had birthday money that was burning a hole in her pocket. Actually, Chad had given it to me to keep so she could spend it while we were in Joplin.

She pretty much knew exactly what she wanted. She had seen some kind of manicure set at T. J. Max before her party and Chad told her to wait and use some of her birthday money on that so we by there and it was still there.

She had seen the JoJo hair bow set somewhere and wanted to find that again. Lucky for us, Sam’s Club had it. We were there for something else and she spotted it.

It was fun shopping with her. She spent most of the money she had but that’s what I expected.

Look at her legs. She is getting so big and she’s so muscular.

Gymnastics is helping with those muscles and hopefully, a bit of discipline!

We shopped for clothes and shoes for back to school.

She’s so long legged, she’s wearing a size 8 pants. The waist is way too big so she promised she’d wear a belt with the jeans that are too big. The Old Navy jeans have an elastic piece inside that stretches, and it has buttonholes so you can pull out as much elastic as you need and button it in place and their jeans fit here nicely but she loved these with the flowers and a couple of other pairs she found at T. J. Max.

We got back to town mid-afternoon, Nicole came by the hotel after work to see what we had bought, then we went by their house to get more things, then to gymnastics, then to swim . .

She wanted me to get a picture of her splashing into the pool and I was surprised I was able to get it at that exact moment. Another little girl came down to play in the pool and I started talking to her mom. She had grown up in south Louisiana, left after Hurricane Katrina, moved to Arkansas and has not taken a job where Nicole works so they are staying at the hotel til some work is done on the house she bought . . which is two houses down from Chad and Nicole and actually was a house I thought about looking at when I was here but it was already sold. She was also talking about how every time she called about a house, it already had a contract on it and how quickly houses were selling here.

Chad and Nicole came by the pool but since Addie had a little friend to play with in the water, they just sat and talked with me and the little girl’s mom.

Addie and I had a wonderful day together but I was tired when it was bedtime. I enjoy my time with that girl.
