I have the smoked garlic, plain garlic, basil, rosemary and bay leaves in the freeze dryer. They were scheduled to be done this evening about 6:30. That gave me time to get them in jars and vacuum sealed before dark . . but I was tired. About 6:00 p.m., I told Vince “I’m going to take a nap. I’ll set my alarm for an hour”. I did set the alarm but left the phone in the bathroom and never heard it go off. I woke up at 10:30 p.m. That’s a 4.5 hour nap. I was tired! I contemplated just sleeping through the night and not even getting up but decided I should get up and knit for a while and hope I can go back to sleep later.
About 11 p.m., Vince said “I’m going to bed. I doubt you’re ready to go to sleep, right?” Nope! Not sleepy. When he started to go to bed, that’s when it hit me — freeze dryer! Oh, no! The garlic and herbs are fine . . the freeze dryer will keep them frozen til morning but you can’t “over dry” them so I figured it was better to give it all more dry time and keep it drying til morning.
I can’t believe I forgot about the freeze dryer.
My plan was to take the current contents out tonight, defrost the freeze dryer and put the okra in there in the morning. Now the okra won’t go in til at least tomorrow evening . . not the end of the world but it kinda screws up my plans.

Ha! That is what I do all the time with laundry. And that is only an hour or so. I can’t even count how many times I have rewashed a load because of the smell.

Judy – Are we supposed to “x” the ads that come through your blog? Several other of my favorite blogs do that (obviously I’m late to the party) and I’m wondering if it’s beneficial to you as well. Thanks!

Sometimes you just have to go to bed and get some rest. If you remember it has not been that long since you were sick and having to take antibiotics. You body is telling you to slow down

That’s about how it happens around here . . I go til I can’t go any more and then crash and forget about everything that needs to be done.
