Maybe today I’ll finish the body of this test knit.
As of last night, I only needed to knit 2″ more before I can start the short rows to make the back of the sweater a little longer.
Then just two sleeves to go and this sweater will be ready for soaking, blocking and as soon as we get a bit of cool weather . . yes, months from now, I’ll be able to wear it.
Since it has some cotton content and since cotton seems to stretch, every night when I take a shower, I anchor the bottom down with clothespins and hang the sweater at the back of the shower so the steam can make the knitting relax a bit. That way, it will do it’s growing and I can get a more accurate measurement of how long it’s really going to be. Pretty smart, huh?
The not so smart thing I did was hang it over an agarita bush for the photo, the wind blew, the agarita leaves blew up and grabbed the sweater and I almost never got it loose. There were little thorns all over the bottom of the sweater, and now a couple of them are in my fingers but I think they’re all out of the sweater!

WOW! That is going to be beautiful!

I love that type of sweater, it looks like it will be very comfortable. I will have to obtain that pattern when it comes out. Of course, I have never knitted a sweater but will try it soon. I am crocheting one right now and just started the first sleeve. I have hopes it will like it, it’s a cardigan!

I will post when it’s ready to be purchased. I find Laura’s patterns to be very easy to follow but I’ve made a lot of them and I compare most other sweater patterns to hers.

That’s going to be so pretty for you. If I knitted, that would solve the problem of all the necks of everything but t-shirts being too wide!
