I’m not writing this so you’ll all comment more and you know I’d keep writing even if I never got another comment because I love writing and I love sharing . . mostly because the blog is such a good reference. Vince will say “Can you remember when we did this or that?” Sure . . let me check the blog and most often, I can find what I need right here on the blog.
Don’t ever feel bad or apologize for not commenting. I don’t expect anyone to comment but I do enjoy reading your comments. I have especially loved reading the comments about your first cars and that you didn’t have the strength to make a 3 point turn (and I don’t even know what that is!) without power steering. Almost every first car someone mentioned, I would remember a friend from many, many years back who had a similar car. Such fun memories.
So often, I’ll write about a memory and then someone else will comment about something that brings back a completely different memory for me. I love that!
Last night Sandie commented about the Mountain Pie Iron. We used to have those. I had totally forgotten about them. We would make peach pies using buttered white bread and peach pie filling. I thought that was about the best thing ever and so easy to make.
When I’m in MO, I’m going to see if Chad has one because they camp a lot and do things with fires in a fire pit outside. If he doesn’t have one, I’m getting one for them and definitely getting us one.
If Sandie had not commented about what that was, I doubt that memory of peach pies would ever have come to the surface.
Often your comments bring back memories, share a perspective I have not considered, remind me I’m normal (or not!), and cause me to think/reflect. There’s so much in life I’ve never and will never experience and even when readers are sharing what seems like a mundane experience or thought, I so often learn something from it.
I probably don’t say it enough but thank you for your comments!

I often will read your blog and think I will come back and comment when I have time and then usually forget.
Happy Anniversary to you and Vince.

The mountain pie iron brings back a lot of memories of camping out with my daughter’s Girl Scout troop, EONS ago….also foil dinners. How could hamburger, sliced potatoes, onions, veggies taste SO good wrapped up in foil and tossed on the campfire. Yum!!

This blog reminded me of when Mom would make fried pies in the middle of summer…Bless her heart. Thanks for helping that memory to surface.

I read the comments, too. So many interesting things said. I feel I’ve come to know some of the other regular commenters, almost!

I love reading your blogs and I look forward to them every day. Did you give up on the podcast? or Vlog?

It’s the beauty of sharing! We all remember things we wouldn’t otherwise. I will sometimes go to my family history and write a new memory that I hadn’t remembered to include before. Since it’s a private blog, it’s easy to just add a post and put a category and tag on it! =)
