Really, it was my morning and half my afternoon .. this morning we went and walked. Yay, Judy & Vince! We came home, showered and needed to go to town to drop off eggs, pick up my thyroid meds and take my car by the body shop to look at the driver’s seat because when you move the seat forward and backwards, there’s a dreadful squealing noise. It’s rare that Vince even drives that car but when he does, he puts the seat back. I’m afraid I’ll get to MO, Chad will drive the car, slide the seat back and it will get stuck too far back and somehow I’ll have to get home with the seat too far back. So, we dropped the eggs off; went by the body shop. Good grief .. the motor and everything that moves the seat back is $700 just for the part and that doesn’t include labor to take the seat out, put the part in, put the seat back in. The body shop guy told Vince he’ll pull the seat out, take the motor apart and see what he can do. Worst case scenario . . we have to buy the new part and get it fixed, so we take it back in next week for that little repair/maintenance job.
My doctor had called the prescription in to the pharmacy we alway use so, all I should have to do is run in, pay for it and get it.
Then . . oh, my goodness, I was about to say “just forget it. I’m not even going to take thyroid meds.” First we started to leave home. I NEVER take my purse with me if Vince is driving, though I probably should. Before he ever started the car, I said “Should I bring my purse with my insurance cards?” Vince said “No. They have all your information on file there.” So, I did not go back in and get my purse. We live about 17 miles from the pharmacy.
Got there, went in, started to pay. It was almost $40. I thought that was a lot, even for a 90 day supply of that particular med. I asked if it would be less with the Good RX card and the girl said “maybe” so I pulled it up on my phone. Nope, no less there but only $10 at Walmart! So, I asked her if WM could just call and get the Rx and get it transferred there. Yes!
I called Walmart and they said yes, that would work. They asked if I had gotten prescriptions filled there before. I told them I didn’t think so but they said I had so . . good enough.
But, I didn’t have ID or my insurance cards so we had to drive all the way back home, get my purse, went back to Walmart. Got there and they had me in their system but they had all my info from Kentucky or MO, nothing from here so they didn’t fill the prescription til they got the right info. Gave them the right info, then had to wait 30 minutes for the Rx to get filled.
So, about 68 miles later, and at least two hours wasted, I saved $30. Not worth it to me but so worth it to Vince. At least Walmart has some kind of “express lane” where you can use an app on your phone, order refills, pay and then walk up to the express lane, get it and go without having to wait through the regular lines.
We’re home . . along with all the stuff Vince found on clearance at Walmart. He spent $90 while I went through all that to save $30. Makes no sense to me.

But he’s a minimalist!

There was supposed to be a grin with that comment. 🙂

It will be nice if you ever have to get a refill when you’re in MO though.
What did Vince find on clearance? Love hearing about that — I miss it.
Oh, and I hope you don’t have to pay that much to fix your seat.

It is ridiculous what we pay for meds! I take levothyroxine for thyroid, generic Synthroid…. it really is PENNIES/per pill. So irritating.
Tee says
I get my levothyroxine refilled at my Walmart and it is often free. yes, $0.00!

Tip on taking your thyroid meds…take them before you go to bed, nothing can interfere with them absorbing into your body. I use to take in the morning but you aren’t suppose to take with coffee or milk, which is a bummer because I use milk in my coffee.

At least you can still get motors for your seat. We had to find a used seat for the Tahoe at the salvage yard for a motor for mine. But we now have all the motors in case another gives out before my car does!

How funny. Not for you I am sure, but just think of all the stuff he got that he needs and will some day use. And think of all he saved by getting it on sale. Are all men the same??

Wow, what a day! This is one reason I go to a little local pharmacy. I don’t have Medicare part D, and so he gives me the cash price for my meds … much less than paying for part D and then the co-pay! I hope you don’t have to work so hard for your next $30 savings. =)
