Nothing! I walk by those logs that were inoculated with mushroom spores at least four times a day and every time, I stop and search for any sign of life and . . nothing.
It was supposed to take nine months (I think that’s what Vince told me but I could be wrong) for them to start producing. He planted them in October so that would be about now but I think the mushrooms around here grow mostly in the spring.
I don’t know the first thing about growing mushrooms but I’m hoping we’ll have some signs of life by next spring. You know I’ll share anything that happens but so far . . absolutely nothing has happened. The logs all look exactly like they did when Vince set them up . . they look like firewood! 🙂

Well, if nothing happens with the mushrooms the logs can BE firewood. Nothing goes to waste.

Well if they don’t produce you know you do have some firewood! LOL But I bet they will. It might take a little longer. We had a lot of rain. Or are they in a place where they are out of the weather?

You need to wack them on the ground or another log. They need a little shaking up to start growing. They also need moisture, keep them damp. 🙂

I re-read the material today that came with the spores and it takes about 15 months from the time they were “planted” and then, they’re mostly going to produce so ours have not been planted long enough to produce. About once a week, we leave the sprinkler on them for about 4 hours, which is what was suggested for our dry climate. We’ll give them more time before we give up and use the logs for fire wood. 🙂

All that work, and for what? Mushrooms! Ugh! LOL
