Through the years, I’ve done a good bit of test knitting for Laura Aylor/Fogbound Knits — probably half a dozen or more sweaters and a few shawls.
Back in May of last year, I purchased a new shawl pattern she had out, Even Cowgirls. It has fringe and looks a bit “cowgirly”. Hers is done in Miss Babs’ Yowza and the color is Dark Parchment. I kept looking through my stash of DK weight yarn and kept going back to Laura’s sample photo. I liked the brown and I specifically liked the Dark Parchment so I ordered that yarn. It was supposed to arrive Friday but didn’t so it should be here today.
Yesterday, Laura had a note on Instagram that she needed testers for a pullover and she was suggesting using a yarn with about half plant fiber content. Even though I have a decent stash, most of my yarn is wool, so in order to participate in the test knit, I had to order yarn. Darn it! 🙂
It’s The Fibre Company’s Luma and the content should work.
That content should be a good Fall sweater for our warmish weather.
Hopefully I’ll have the second red, white and blue Undulance sock finished by the time the Luma gets here and I will then start on the test knit sweater, and save the Even Cowgirls shawl til after I’ve finished the test knit! I’ve already checked with Laura and I will be able to share progress along the way.
I love test knits because there’s always a tight deadline and I have to work quickly and not get distracted . . something I don’t seem to be able to do unless I feel pressured to meet a deadline!

I know that silk and wool make wonderful crazy quilt threads at 50-50, but I’ll be interested in your take on this mixture.
