You may remember back last fall when I made Undulance socks. I am breaking my rule and sharing a link to a pattern because (1) I want to support Suzanne Bryan because I think she is the most amazing knitter I know and she’s also generous and helpful and (2) the pattern is free TODAY ONLY. When I made my socks, they were only available through The Knitting Guild Association, as a pattern in their Cast On magazine.
Here’s the link to Suzanne’s new and revised Undulance #2 pattern. She will also have her patterns available at Love Knitting, but I don’t think it’s free there today.
Suzanne has revised the instructions, including links to videos and these socks look so interesting in self striping yarn. For quilters . . remember how fun Stack & Whack type quilts are . . these socks are just that fun for me because of the way the stripes make such neat designs.
The pattern is one of those that when I looked at it, even after having already figured it out once, I was letting myself get confused so I had to remember my own advice – do step 1 before worrying about step 2. It really is such an easy pattern that once you’ve done a repeat or two, you can finish without even looking at the pattern.
Here are the ones I made, all nice and blocked.
This is what they looked like before I blocked them. I’m sharing the unblocked picture so you won’t laugh when you see the ones I’m working on now.
Until they’re blocked, they look like they have boobs! Lots of boobs!
I got down to the heel last night. This isn’t the greatest striped yarn or this pattern but I really wanted to use it. I have another pair started and I’ll show those later today.
I can’t say enough about how fun this pattern is. If you knit and you love knitting socks, I highly recommend the pattern.

Thank you so much Judy! I think the red white and blue socks will be lovely too!

I remember those socks, and it’s great to see the new version, too. Those are going to be such fun.
