Yesterday while looking for something else, I came across the picture of the first socks I made . . back in 2006.
I still wear these socks – 13 years later. This is yarn that can be machine washed and dried and sometimes they do go into the washer/dryer so they’re a bit lighter in color but show no signs of wear. My preference is to hand wash all my socks and wool items.
There are some socks made out of more fragile yarns that have not held up so well through the years but this yarn was real workhorse yarn. I can’t remember what yarn it was and I didn’t seem to make a note in the blog post but if you’re interested in reading a 13 year old blog post, here it is. That was pretty much a life changing incident – starting to knit again.

Still look good as new to me!

Oh, wouldn’t it be good to know what yarn it was? If it wears that well, it would be very desirable! They striped nicely, too.

I don’t know what yarn that is, either. But I made 2 pairs of socks with it back in 2005!
