Also while looking for something else on an old blog, I came across this picture of the first crazy shoes Chad bought.
That blog post was 13 years ago and when I was in MO at Christmas, 2018, he was still wearing those shoes sometimes. I think they were about at the end of their life . . he may have had them re-soled once.
He had them sitting under the bar, Addie’s bag of slime wasn’t zipped all the way and it leaked out . . pretty much half of a gallon of slime and landed on his shoes so that might have been the end of their life . . I think he tried to clean them up but that slime was in the skin. I never heard if he saved them but if he didn’t, he definitely got his money’s worth out of them.
He must have been 18 or 19 when he bought those shoes. He’s always liked weird shoes.
What’s funny . . how many of y’all remember these last two posts from when I first posted them 13 years ago? Some of us are getting old! 🙂

I remember the shoe post!

My husband came by my chair when I had this post open. He saw the shoes his comment was those would like nice in black. So there is more than Chad that likes weird shoes.

I think those shoes would make him look like a local in Italy, where they are so fashion conscious.

I’m sorry, but I have to say these are some of the ugliest shoes I have ever seen!! No offense to Chad because I know he loved them. But I think they are so far out of style, they may be coming back in at any time!! LOL

I definitely remember the shoes! Socks were knitting and not on my radar at all. =) 13 years ago, I was having a wonderful time traveling the country with Paul, and it’s summer, so I would have been in South Dakota. =)

I remember the first time you posted the shoes, because I had just given my much younger brother a hard time for wearing a similar pair he bought in Europe. Called them his Elf shoes!

I know that my son has shoes that look like bowling shoes. Ugly. But he sure does love them and has owned them for probably 10+years. I look at today”s fashion and wonder what is wrong with people, sheer clothes, hardly there shorts and tops. I can remember my dad saying that there should be some mystery under the clothes, I can’t imagine what he would say today.
