Last night I thought the finger looked much better. The blister was no bigger and the swelling went down. This morning, the blister was gone. I had to go to the doctor for something else and as I was driving, I realized the tip of that finger was tingly. When I looked at it, there was a blistery like thing forming at the cuticle and the joint was again swollen.
I was glad I was already going to the doctor because I doubt that I would have gone for just the finger but she was concerned and gave me antibiotics to take for a week.
You can see that the swelling in the joint was down from yesterday but it’s swollen back up this afternoon. The doctor told me to soak it in Epsom Salt water three times a day for 15 minutes and to dab it with apple cider vinegar as that may be helpful with a staph infection.
So . . more antibiotics. The pharmacist said “Are you still taking antibiotics?” I told him I hadn’t had them for probably 20 years and I think this is the 5th time I’ve had them since about March. Not good!

At first I thought it might be ant, or some other bug creature. Espescially when you discussed the spiders and scorpions. I’ve been bitten and stung s but cause sometimes I don’t watch where I’m going. And despite everyone along tells to put some shoes on I don’t. I went to the doctor the other day and I tried to warn him but he turned all shades of red and asked what have you done to your feet? Nothing but take my shoes off when it gets warm and on when it’s cold. The skin on the bottom of my feet is like leather. Anyway what I was going to say is AND NOBODY ELSE DO THIS unless you know what you’re doing. My uncle who was a doc told me to get a straight pin and run it through some fire match light stove. Then gently inset the pin where the blister meets your skin. That’s what causes the pain and itching. Sometimes I have to put 2 drainage holes. You would probably have to press for awhile to get it all and you may have to repeat a couple times. It does not hurt at all and it gets rid of the itches and swelling. I thought I’d throw that out there because it really works. Hope you feel better soon. Donna from ARKANSAS!

I’ve also used liquid bandage on insect bites since stopping access to air seems to help me.

Do you ferment? Eat extra fermented veggies if you do to help your gut when you take antibiotics. I agree with Donna above. Old time remedies work wonderfully!

Interesting reaction to the bite, the going up and down. I hope the antibiotics take care of it.

I believe in the Epsom Salt baths and the Apple Cider Vinegar. They do work well!!
