There 4th of July celebration is at our house this afternoon. About midnight, I put pork butts on to smoke. They’re almost ready to get off the smoker, wrap in pink butcher paper and stick in the cooler til time to serve pulled pork. We have bun (storebought) for sandwiches, though I don’t eat mine as a sandwich.
There are baked beans in the pressure cooker. Once I cook them down a bit more, I’m going to put them in a baking dish, add cooked bacon and then I’ll stick them in the oven to bake – just to cook a bit more.
I’m making two kinds of potato salad and bread pudding. I make a cream sauce for the bread pudding and I put a couple of jars of canned peaches from last year in the fridge so, if someone wants peaches on top of their bread pudding, and then cream sauce on top of that . . yum! That’s what I’ll be having.
The bowl in the back right has nothing to do with dinner tonight. That’s a sourdough starter I’m reviving.

Sounds wonderful! We are leaving on vacation this weekend so I think I will just bbq burgers and have cole slaw or potato salad from the store. Our Safeway makes a delicious Summer Slaw – we like it better than cole slaw. If not that, I will go get Kentucky fried chicken. We are out of just about everything in the fridge or freezer.

Looks good! We had hot dogs with chili. It was homemade chili though.
