This weekend Chad, Nicole and Addie took a float trip down one of their almost local rivers.
There’s about no place those three would rather be than on the water. With Chad’s new job, he’s off Friday, Saturday and Sunday so that gives them a whole lot more time to do family things. He had said that was one of his priorities. When school starts again, and with Nicole working, he’ll have Friday to do his own thing and then they do something fun almost every weekend.
Addie is snorkeling. I’m not a fan of the water. In fact, I don’t know how to swim and you know the issue I have with bridges. One of the houses we were looking at last week was very near the water and had a boat dock on the water. I told Vince that I wanted him to understand that I think he should get a boat and I think he should go out and do whatever he wants to do but I want him to understand I probably will never ever go out on the boat.
I’m glad Chad and Nicole have raised Addie to love the water. I was never around it as a kid . . whether that would have made any difference in the way I feel about it now . . who knows.

Nice to see an Addie update. Now, the lake house…what about a pontoon boat? You could take your knitting out there while Vince does his thing. Think of the nice breeze on a sunny day. Would be lovely! Well, that might be my dream.

I loved the water as a child. It was difficult to get me OUT!
It’s still remarkable to me the difference between midwestern rivers and Washington state rivers. These are much more swimmable.

Addie reminds me at the age…..little fish. I was swimming by age 5 and waterskiing by age 8 both much to my mother’s horror. Glad I had an encouraging dad. I agree on the pontoon boat. At wake speed it’s very calm, no slipped stitches, Rita would be happy in her bed snuggled upside down, you could read or knit.

What fun they are going to have. I was brought up in the middle of the desert, and I do love the water! I love to swim in a pool, but I’m not as crazy about a river. I’ll do the ocean if it isn’t too cold, but I love to walk along the shore anyway. They look like they’re having a great time. That’s a nice thing about having just one child. She fits in the small boat. =)

Well where you grew up you had to be careful where you went in the water!! Those gaters scare me too!!

You know, it is never too late to learn to swim..

I’m not a boat person either even tho I love to swim. We had a boat that I went on a total of 3 times. But the other thing I’m terrified of is motorcycles. My husband had one and I never once rode with him. Our girls did (while I worried) and my son in law has one. But they are not for me!

I grew up thinking the only water that was safe was a swimming pool or the bath tub! My dad didn’t fish. I married a man who would fish in a puddle! And he was anxious for our finances to allow him to buy a boat. He said he was getting a boat big enough that I would not be afraid to be in it…and he did. I still don’t care about the fishing but I love to be out in the boat. There is nothing more peaceful and beautiful and I can read, x stitch and drive the boat when required. It is indeed wonderful to see the family each enjoying their time together!
