It’s a good thing I love choosing yarn for projects. In fact, I often wonder if that isn’t my favorite part of knitting.
There’s a colorwork project I’ve been wanting to do and have already ordered yarn for it once but I’m not 100% sold on what I got and I know I’ll use it at some point . . so long as I live to be 213 years old!
After seeing this same sweater that someone else made, I knew I wanted something different for mine and I began searching for new yarn. Miss Babs was my first choice, mainly because she has so many color choices in each yarn. I wanted Yowza DK and she has 80+ colors in Yowza. She also has Yowza mini skins, which are 200 yards compared to 560 yards on the full size skeins. I could order a multiples of the minis but most of the colors are the same as the full size unless one color just happens to be sold out.
The search began. Remember that these colors do not need to blend or even match really. The prettiest of these projects I’ve seen have four totally different colors.
The projects I like best have a dark color in the first spot, then two fairly medium colors, then a speckle and then some type of variegated yarn but it doesn’t need to have much color activity in that skein.
This one does do much for me . . way too boring for my taste but I do like that Easter Egg Hunt color.
This one was about to be my choice when I decided I wanted a bit darker for the gold and switched from Dutch Iris to Old Gold.
It was also about that time that I thought maybe I wanted purple instead of blue.
After looking at the photo in grayscale, I’m ruling out the purple and going with the blue (Eternity).
Now . . what else can I find to do instead of what I should be doing?? 🙂

Did you see the new kit on Skeino today? It was a one day deal for $54. It was so pretty! I resisted temptation because I just finished Wings! Will post a picture for you to see.

Only 213? LOL That’s one reason I have a fabric stash, probably.
