Yarn Found

Yesterday I told Vince “I’m going to search for yarn and I may be a while!” All of my yarn is stored in Rubbermaid type tubs. I’ve used several different methods of categorizing the yarn in the tubs. In the beginning, I did it by weight so I’d have “Fingering-1, Fingering-2, Sport-1”, etc. and there’s a spreadsheet as to which yarns are in which tubs. Yarns that I have a ton of are categorized “Tosh Merino Light, Wollmeise Pure, Lorna’s Laces Shepherd Sock” etc. Each of those have their own tubs. Somewhere along the way I thought it was a good idea to have “project” tubs. Project-1, Project-2, etc. Again, it’s all listed on the spreadsheet. Then later, I began just dumping yarn into tubs. 2018-1, 2018-2 and the spreadsheet tells me what’s in each tub.

If I think I know where to find the yarn, I’ll start digging because I don’t keep the computer on in the sewing room so by the time I turn it on and let it boot up, I should have found the yarn.

Yesterday I was looking for Sport-1 or Sport-2 because I don’t have a ton of sport yarn. I looked at about 4 tubs and then I thought . . check the projects tubs. The Rowan Felted Tweed was in the first project tub I opened. Actually . . it was in the first tub I opened.

I totally was surprised to find it in these cute little bags. I do remember getting yarn in these bags but didn’t think it was this yarn . . but it is.

The Cascade 220 Sport is superwash and for this much colorwork, I’d rather use something that isn’t superwash (like the felted tweed) so I’m glad I found it first.

Now . . I have to keep reminding myself that I have to finish two big projects before I can start something else!
