Last night Vince and I were talking. I mentioned someone and here’s how the conversation went:
Vince: Whatever happened to her?
Me: I don’t know. I guess she’s still around. She’s probably 5 or more years older than I am.
Vince: Oh, WOW! She’s older than dirt!
Me: Thanks a lot!
He didn’t see anything wrong with that statement. So . . someone 5 years older than I am is “older than dirt”? I don’t think so, sweetie! 🙂
There are so many times Vince says things and I think “Oh, I need to remember that and share it” and, of course, I can remember that there was something I wanted to share but I can’t remember what it was! I guess that’s what happens when you’re “older than dirt”!

One could question whether he was calling you dirt…but we won’t go there!! I’m sure he does it just for the reaction!

LOL! My hubby would be among the first to say something like that, except he would say it entirely on purpose to see if he could get a rise out of me. In my case, though, I give it as well as receive it! ? Our kids, when they were younger, used to think we were fighting, and we didn’t even realize that it bothered them!! We never considered it fighting – to us we were having fun! We knew it was all in fun, but the kids never thought like that. The kids are grown and gone now but we still do it, and have a good laugh in the process!

My husband used to say something was “older than Crandall Park”. This is a park in Glens Falls NY. I have no idea how long it’s been there. Off to Google now!

Or if not dirt, as old as it!

You are not older than dirt! If that was true I would be too and I am not!! LOL My story and I am sticking to it! My cousin, who is the same age as me, told my brother one day that I sure did look old. He said well she is and you are too!!

You didn’t say he had a way with women. LOL
