This morning after breakfast we had watermelon. Addie was determined to finish her piece before I finished mine.
She was stretching her mouth to take the biggest bites possible and, of course, we were all laughing at her. I know . . this will earn me a lecture on teaching a 6 year old bad manners, but it was funny. She loves watermelon . . but so do I.

Way to go granny. You are soooo much fun! My 3 year old g-daughter tells me,
“I looooove playing with you”, and it melts my heart.

That is pretty heartwarming, isn’t it? It’s so fun being being a grandma.

No lectures here, she is having fun and so are the rest of you. She will be old enough soon enough to tweek her manners! We always opened the watermelon and everyone got a spoon, salt and we just dug in one half of the watermelon! I thought this was the way you were supposed to eat it! Or you get one in the field, take it to the tank, find the shade from a tree, put the melon in it. Then after you are finished with work, the melon is cooled and you just take it and bust it on the ground. You take out the heart and eat it with your hands. You can clean off in the tank before you go home!! But we still had to have a bath once we got home!! We were riding on the tractor or a trailer so we got more dirty going home!

I don’t see any bad manners. Watermelon is a special case. =)
