Pattern: Hannah’s Sweet Delight
Yarn: Madelinetosh Longrider DK
Color: Neon Peach
Even though I had finished the knitting on the doll dress for Addie, and blocked it before I left home, I had not sewn on the buttons. I figured I’d wait and see if it fit before wasting three buttons. When I got to MO, I showed the dress to Addie and we tried it on the doll and it was a perfect fit. She wanted the buttons sewn on NOW but I told her I would do it the next day while she was at school . . and I did.
These were the buttons I had with me. Addie liked them all. Since I only needed three and since two cards had six, and that would leave me with three extras, I used the buttons that would make the most of the buttons I had.
Now, the dress is totally and completely finished.
The pattern really is a perfect fit. Today is Addie’s last day to bring a show & tell project to share with her class and she brought her doll with the new dress. That made me feel really good – she likes it! She also told me: “Granny, I want you to knit a whole bunch more clothes for her!” That I can do! We sat down together and looked at lots of patterns and she loved every one of them so this will be easy and I find it super fun to knit these clothes. They’re not so small as to be too tedious (like Barbie clothes) and they’re small enough to go really quickly.

That is just too stinking cute!! You know what this means, don’t you? MORE YARN! LoL LoL … you can use up all the bits of leftover yarn, mixing and matching because hey… the doll isn’t going to care, right? ;-D That will make room for NEW yarn!! So glad Addie is excited over the dress and wants more!

My grand’s said her teacher told the kids to bring something from home that told a story. So she brought her quilt that had the label on it. Of course, I put a sweet label and she said teacher cried when she read it to the class. But these grands appreciate it more than they show sometimes. Enjoy the blog, BTW!

Wasn’t that sweet? She is about as spoiled as any only child but she is a sweet, sweet girl and she seems to love almost everything I make for her.
