One of my very favorite songs from many, many years back is Mathilda by Cookie & The Cupcakes. Yesterday evening, after a long day on the road, we went out to get crawfish. The place had just opened and the very first song to play on the big speakers was Mathilda.
I did drink a Dr. Pepper but I didn’t eat the corn or potatoes. But, I did eat 5 pounds of crawfish and will do it again soon! 🙂
Please don’t judge . . it was a long day on the road. We were eating outside and it was pretty warm and the sun was shining brightly behind me. I don’t have my computer with the photo editing software so the best I could do was black and white. And honestly, I don’t even know if I put makeup on before leaving. Getting on the road was priority #1.
I don’t know why I was expecting it to be cooler and have on a sweater because it was not cool outside!
For a while, I thought GPS had lost me! It looked like I was floating around on a cloud or something.
That went on for about half an hour. I wasn’t lost but I knew it was just a matter of time . . and then everything started working again.
What could be better than crawfish?
Chad found all these morels and someone is supposed to give him more today or tomorrow and we’ll have fried morels. Yum! He’s also going to smoke trout in the next few days. I may not be so lucky with my weight this trip. All that saved me last time was that the last week I was visiting them, I was pretty sick. I definitely hope that doesn’t happen again so, if I gain a few pounds, I’ll just have to work harder to get it off when I get home.

Don’t feel bad about enjoying your food!! It’s not like you eat like that every day. Besides, what fun is it if you have to tell yourself all the time that you “can’t “… Keeping your meals the same, day after day, after day would be very boring and you would soon decide it’s not worth it!
You look great in your picture, too! Why do we think we have to gussy ourselves up to be presentable? You weren’t born with makeup on, and nobody complained then. LOL!!

You look good and so does that crawfish! Enjoy your visit and stay well.

You look wonderful! Good for you!

Judy, I find it much easier to get back on Keto after a lapse because it is just a more fulfilling was of eating than a low-fat diet. If i fall off low-fat, i am lost… with Keto, i just pop back on and go forward – you’ll be fine !

Looking good

You can do it!

Hey, you skipped the corn and potatoes…leaves room for crawfish! Yummy, and not too far off your way of eating (not diet)!
And…no makeup? Who can tell in B&W anyway? I think your family’s pleasure at seeing you far outweighs superficialities.

Stop your thoughts each time the food makes you feel guilty. That’s just wrong. You will get back on track when you get home. Be careful where you can, but enjoy yourself! The b&w pic is great, I think. You look good.

I think you really had way less than five pounds of crawfish…the shells are very heavy I believe! Hope you enjoyed them…I have a rule that I don’t eat anything that has the head on… You are looking great…congrats on your weight loss!

There’s definitely less than 5 pounds of meat there but that’s how you order them . . by the pound. At this place, they sell them in three pound or five pound trays.

You look great! I never wear makeup, just don’t care about the way it looks and I don’t like the feel on my allergy prone skin.skin, sunblock and moisturizer is it. Eat and enjoy your family. It is one week of your life. You don’t want Addie to be weight focused and afraid of food. Believe me it starts early. We don’t eat that way everyday but enjoyment has to be part of life. You are doing great!

how big are your crawfish? Are they fresh or salt water? They look like our crayfish, although smaller, or perhaps yabbies? Have never heard of morels, they look like mushrooms. ALthough probably a mushroom we would not be game to eat! Interesting to read of the different foods in your part of the world. We did find things rather strange when I was in the US last year.

Judy, I hardly knew it was you. You have lost a lot of weight from my memory of when I saw you last. I don’t believe you are anywhere near 65 either!! I’m not a crayfish fan, but you deserve to treat yourself when you are in MO.
