A friend posted on Facebook recently that they had found a doll in some trash and it’s exactly the kind of doll their granddaughter loves. They cleaned it all up and needed to find her some clothes. The granddaughter is a bit younger than Addie so I wrote them and said “I’ll knit the doll a dress and a matching sweater for L*.”
Their doll is a 15″ doll, and without having her here to measure, I had to buy a pattern that is specifically for a 15″ doll. The one I used for Addie is for an 18 or 19″ doll and that’s a big percentage different from 15″.
This pattern came from Etsy and it’s a pdf of an old pattern. The little girl likes pink so I ordered this yarn:
Pink seems to be a popular color with yarn and my choices were limited trying to find enough to make a doll dress and a child’s sweater from the same yarn.
I see more doll clothes in my future knitting plans!

Judy I think it is fantastic that you are doing this for a friends little one. A number of people wouldn’t think to help. You go girl!!!

The doll looks like it might be a 15” Tiny Tears doll. Does anyone remember these?

I still have mine, one of the originals. Not in bad shape either.

That’s going to be adorable and I want to see it when it’s finished. I hope it goes fast like Addie’s! You are so kind.

This is a cute pattern! I have my baby doll. She is wearing a dress my sister made for her daughter and it was way too small for her. She has on a yellow baby sweater that I knitted several years ago! She has no shoes so I guess I need to make her some booties and underwear! LOL

Did you know that Ravelry has quite a few free knitting patterns for dolls? Just search “free doll clothes” and see what comes up. I saved a couple because I want to teach myself to knit and crochet when I retire later this year. (I hope.)
