Besides digging up a bit of garlic, I did some weeding in the asparagus and around the onions this morning. There’s a couple of hours in the morning when I feel good and then it’s downhill.

I did find a small clump of bluebonnets in the garden.

The artichokes are starting to make but I think the bugs have done a number on this one.

The elderberries are growing like crazy. I’m so anxious to see how many we get this year.

I picked enough collard greens to fix for lunch, along with leftover chicken with garlic and peppers, over cauliflower rice, along with tomatoes from the greenhouse. Yummy . . nice to be eating these kinds of meals again.

I’d love that meal, especially from the garden. I won’t be planting until May 19th and then only plants, no seeds this year. I have a complete new hip so cannot sit or kneel on the ground so will stick to tomatoes, squashes etc. I’ll be happy with that. Tell me what you use on a pecked chicken please to heal. Thank you.

The bluebonnets are so pretty. I don’t think I’d want to eat that artichoke either.
