Vince called and said “You’d better take everything you can take before you get back here! Cedar pollen is the worst I’ve ever seen it!” Oh, goodness . . do I really want to go back to Texas? There’s enough blooming here and the wind is blowing like crazy that it’s probably not a lot better here. There’s a park across the street from Chad. I looked over there and saw three huge ORANGE cedar trees. Orange means they’re full of pollen so it’s blowing around here too.
Vince was out working this morning. He said when he got back to the house, he stripped at the back door (we can do that because there are no neighbors!) and he said when he took his socks off, there was a cloud of yellow dust. He said his glasses were covered, the hair on his arms was covered.
Thank goodness I’ll arrive back home taking antibiotics, Flonase and Zyrtec and I go to the doctor for a routine physical on Tuesday so I can get whatever else I might need and . . I have a good excuse to stay in the house til this cedar has done its thing.
This is a miserable time of year for seasonal allergy sufferers.

I am still having problems. The last two days I have napped on the couch. Yesterday I slept from around 1 pm until nearly 5. Today I napped in my chair for at least an hour. It is all due to the allergies. Right now I am having trouble keeping my eyes open. Also the last two days it has been at least 96 degrees! I guess it is starting early this year!

Here in the Phoenix area we are also having high winds. Since we had a very wet winter, weeds are growing like crazy and the pollen and dust is absolutely horrendous. Everyone I talk to is having some sort of allergy problem. We had 2 days of 97 degree temps but today is quite a bit cooler – in the 70s I believe. I can’t wait for everything to die in the heat!

That’s oak pollen not cedar. Ot coats everything here

We’ve had so much rain that all the pollen isn’t flying around anywhere. The dogwood blooming doesn’t seem to bother me, thank goodness.

I had to call the vet this week to get allergy medicine for my dog. She starts every year about this time. Rubbing her nose, scratching herself and chewing at her paws. My husband starts taking his medicine in March and I think I’m finally starting to get them myself. Never had them when we lived in Pittsburgh, but I’m not moving back there from North Carolina. Too cold up there!

Yes it is oak pollen. So bad. The rain on Saturday helped for two days but yesterday it was so windy and now I have a stopped up nose
