Remember the logs I showed on Chad’s trailer a week or so ago?
Yesterday he and a friend took the friend’s trailer and went up to the sawmill and picked up lumber they had both had milled. What’s in the back of Chad’s truck is from one of the logs. The sawmill guy hadn’t finished all of Chad’s logs.
It’s oak and it’s some really nice wood.
Chad had painted the log ends with Anchor Seal before having them milled so all he had to coat with the Anchor Seal last night were the big flat sections that had lots of cut wood exposed. He and Nicole did that and got the wood all inside the shop last night.
Watching those two work, after having worked all day, makes me realize how much less I do now that I’m a “senior citizen”!.

Yep, some days I feel like the Energizer Bunny for a couple of hours and suddenly my batteries drained.

I don’t know either how I did all that I did when I was younger . I’m so much slower and the strength and energy are so much less. I guess that’s what retirement is all about. We can do what we can at the speed we can & there’s nobody pushing us to do more faster.

Makes me tired just reading this!

You did it when you were younger and you had to. Their turn now. That is some beautiful wood!
