I suspected there was going to be a problem between my first and second colors. If they aren’t close enough, there’s striping instead of fading, and that’s what I ended up with.
The yellow isn’t a color I’m going to use but I ordered it hoping it might help transition to the blue . . but it doesn’t.
I’m using Madelinetosh Farm Twist and the yarn I’ve ordered for this project is the only Farm Twist I have in my stash . . not to mention that I’m not near my stash right now. Farm Twist is quite different from any other yarn I have so I can’t even mix and match other yarns to make it work.
As of now, my choices are:
- Forget using the light (Horn is the color); use the three blue/greens I have and hope at least one other color I have coming will work.
- Use the three colors I have already (Patagonia, Jaded Dreams and Snake) and forget about using four or five colors.
- Totally forget about using the Farm Twist and start over with a different yarn.
I’ll wait til the new yarns arrive, which probably won’t be til the first of next week, then make a decision.
Those three colors would work but I’d love to use at least four colors but . . if I can’t do it, I can’t d it.

No it isn’t fading, but I do like the two yarns together. You’re doing this for a fade badge or something?
