Nicole and Addie both love working on puzzles. Nicole bought a 1,000 piece puzzle the other day and she’s been working on it. It’s a bit hard for Addie but she gives it her best shot.
Look how busy they are . . and how much concentration is going into that puzzle. I like working puzzles but not nearly as much as they do. I was busy knitting while they were working their puzzle.

Nice that you’re able to visit and just be present in the moment. Little things really do make a difference. Addie will have these memories the rest of her life!! Enjoy!!!

When I was growing up, our family always worked a puzzle during Christmas break. I bought a new puzzle this year, but I haven’t opened it yet. I need to set up a card table to work it, and that means I have to move some other things (looms) out of the way…
I miss that family tradition!

My family, too! I also remember a visit with my mother. My brother and I had moved halfway across the country (different states) at the same time. When we visited our mother, we did a puzzle, and had great conversations doing it! I miss that holiday feeling.
Apparently my siblings exchange puzzles, writing inside the lid who did it when. Sort of a way to carry on the tradition…

We had our 5 yr. old grandchildren here over last Friday night & Saturday and on Saturday we worked 4 or 5 puzzles. At their age we’re still doing 100 pc. ones. Grandson is really good at them and granddaughter not so much but still wants to do them and they fight over who gets to choose which one we work on. I figure it’s not TV or something involving a screen so it’s good for them.

I remember working on jigsaw puzzles with my mother (oh, so many years ago) when my sister was small… I must have been about 10-12. We learned a lot about looking at shapes and colors for clues. We learned patience, with the puzzle and each other. My sister and I no longer have our mother to work on puzzles with us but we still sit down with one occasionally, remembering her and relearning patience with one another in addition to discussing the different viewpoints we have on techniques and how the same background could possibly be so interpreted so differently.
