I brought these socks to Addie when I came on Tuesday.
She put them on as soon as I handed them to her. She slept in them Tuesday night . . said her toes were cold. She wore them to school Wednesday, put them back on after her bath on Wednesday night and wore them to school Thursday. When she took her bath Thursday evening, I grabbed them, hand washed them and had them on the table to dry overnight. She started to put them on this morning and said “Hey! My socks are wet!” She fully intended to wear them . . wet! I told her no, they had to dry. She wanted to put them in the dryer and it wouldn’t have hurt but I talked her into wearing a different pair to school today.
When she was putting them on the first time, it looked like they might be too small. I asked if they were too tight. She pointed to the ribbing at the top and said “They might be a bit tight right here . . in the waist!” I guess if the top of her pants is the waist, then the top of the socks must be the waist too.
They weren’t too tight . . they were fine after she wore them a bit.
I need to get busy and make her more socks for next Fall. She really does love those socks. These were made with Spun Right Round’s Sport Sock. Considering that she’s worn them about 48 hours straight and they’ve now been washed, I’m pleased with the way they’ve held up. I don’t see any pilling on them at all.

What a lovely anecdote! I’ll now always smile when I look at the ‘waist’ of a sock.

I completely understand her wearing them two days in a row. I’m not confessing anything, you understand, just saying I get it. =)
