There are some things that just don’t come across as well when writing and I’ve been wanting to do some video blogs for a while. I had asked Vince if he would be interested in doing video podcasts with me and he said yes but he wanted to do his typical engineer research for weeks and you know me . . I’m impatient and I want to do it now.
I’m sure a better camera and a better microphone would help .. but so would a bigger house with a place I could get out of the middle of all the commotion. During one attempt ad making the video, Rita was having a nightmare and started howling!
This morning I decided I was just going to do it. Use the iPad .. no special equipment and I did it.
Here’s the first one. Actually, that was the second one. Please don’t stop reading and watching til you get to the end and hear Rita’s “blooper”. I couldn’t believe it. I was right on track to get a successful video blog . . until this happened . . unless you count the bluebird pecking on the back window and distracting me.
I wanted to share the new yarn that was arriving and as soon as I finished the video, I got a notice that my packages had been delivered so I drove up and got them and did a second video.
Let’s hope this all works. Let’s hope I get better and quicker with getting these edited and uploaded.
There was even a blooper! Rita began having a nightmare during the middle of Take #2 and I decided to start over.
All in all, it was a memorable experience. Aside from the iPad not communicating with any of my Android devices and the iPad being almost full to capacity so it wouldn’t upload any of the videos, this was fun. I know I shouldn’t blame the iPad because there’s too much stuff on it but if Knit Companion would get their Android version up to where the IOS version is, I’d never own another Apple product. I know we’re all different and some feel the same way about Android products but . . I’m just not an Apple girl.
Sometime today I hope to get “show notes” done and will clarify everything I mentioned. Oh . . Addie is in kindergarten. Next year, she will be in first grade. I mentioned that I was making a gift for her second grade teacher for next year. Nope . . not yet! I got ahead of myself there.

Just watched these and they are wonderful. I am trying to knit again, 50years since I last knitted. My grandmother taught me how to crochet and knit when I was a kid. I would mainly do these when we were on a long trip and the car ride was boring, and my two brothers were a pain. I have done all kinds of needle work, and I love quilting. My daughter does wonderful crochet and makes many items of clothing for herself. Please keep the videos coming, and do some on cooking also. Vince would also be a great video person, with all of his projects.

Thanks for making the effort. It was a success. I had to come back to it because it takes a little more time than just checking my favorite blogs first thing in the a.m. Amazing what you can do with equipment and know-how. Glad you took a stab since it worked out first time around. Funny, on completion of the first video, my computer raced on to a second one, not yours. But it was loud and it featured a 6-foot black snake someone had video’d. I nearly jumped out of my skin. Thought you would appreciate the story since we both feel the same about snakes. Egh.

Watching & reading your blog, waiting, while hubby’s getting 4 hr infusion at the lab. This would be a good reason to pickup knitting or crochet.
I learned today that i averted my eyes from a woman wearing a knitted/crocheted hat (for cancer patients). As soon as I realized, i put on a smile and happy eyes, and met her eyes again. She responded in kind. I’m not outgoing, but I did plan bright clothing for today and tomorrow. It would help if my facial expression was equally cheerful. Now, to go pet the yarn hats in the resource center.

I love these!! I subscribed and I finally get to see you almost in person!! I can see the weight loss! I am not one to tell people what they need to do with their videos, but one thing you might want to do on the darker things like your lace shawl is to put them on a white background. When you held the shawl up and you were in the background I could see the design perfectly!! Don’t know if this helps or not but you might want to think about it. I love your videos!! I subscribed and liked them all (I think)! It is so good to see you and I miss seeing you! Have a wonderful day!!

Well, that was fun! =) I’m the one who doesn’t touch Android or PC, it’s Apple all the way … but I don’t have an iPad, so I’ll take yours when you get the Android one you hope will be made. LOL I, too, subscribed to your videos, so we’ll see if they notify me when you do a new one. =)
