It was just getting dark and I decided to run over to the sewing room and wind a skein of yarn in case I ran out. Yesterday when I was digging in the yarn tubs, I must have left out a skein of yarn and Boots found it. Somehow between about 2 p.m. when I was over there knitting with him, and about 8:00 p.m. when I went back to wind a skein of yarn, he had made the biggest, most unbelievable mess with a skein of yarn. He had it wrapped around legs of the sewing machine table, wrapped around yarn tubs, around my computer chair . . about half the sewing room was covered in yarn.
Then, he thought I was playing with him when I was trying to get it unwrapped from everything. It was kinda comical but he had way more fun than I did.
It wasn’t the worst I’ve seen but it took me about an hour to get it all untangled and wound into a ball.
I’m not even sure what yarn it is. It look a bit silky. Tomorrow I’ll go back over and see if I can find a yarn band.
At least Boots had fun for a few minutes with it.

He’s lonely in that room and found something to play with. Bless his heart!

I don’t think he’s that lonely. I spend about half my day in there knitting and I think he’s usually happy to see me go. Vince goes in and spends time with him every day too. Most of the time when we’re in there, he isn’t socializing with us but in the closet or in a window sleeping.

just think how much fun he would have had if you had left the lid off a tub of yarn. haha
Judy Laquidara says
You are so right! When I’m in there looking for yarn, it doesn’t matter where he is or what he’s doing, when he hears a lid pop off, he’s there in a flash and inside the tub. I can see him eyeing those skeins of yarn and wanting to get his little paws on one.

And he finally got his great desire, so now … he’ll want to do it again! LOL I wish you had a Boots cam. I think it might have been fun to watch. He didn’t get himself tangled in it, so that was good.

Sounds like he had more than a few minutes of fun! Looks like a party afternoon!
And I thought the “cat and a ball of yarn” thing was just a goof. It’s real!
Donna Austin says
one time I arrived home from work and was unable to find my, always ready for a treat, cat. he wouldn’t come and he wouldn’t answer me. I was starting to panic when I finally found him in the bedroom completely tied between the bed and a chair with a skein of yarn. My cat was so embarrassed over being trapped he wouldn’t answer me. It took scissors to cut him free.I don’t think I’ve ever laughed as much. My cat did not speak to me for days. Cats do not like being laughed at.
Joyce says
He had a kitty party for sure!

I wish you had shown us the yarn strewn everywhere. Boots certainly had a very fun time!
