It was amazing. Maybe because we haven’t had cake or sweets or dessert in a very long time . . not really VERY long but it seems very long ago . . but this chocolate cake was super easy to make and delicious.
I put the filling between the layers before I added the cocoa and then I iced about 1/3 of the cake with the white icing before adding the cocoa . . because I don’t like chocolate. Why bother when it’s all on a chocolate cake anyway? I don’t know . . but the cake was great! And, I wasn’t thinking because I cut both pieces with chocolate icing.
The recipe say it freezes well so I cut the cake up, stuck it all in the freezer. Tomorrow I’ll take it out, wrap each piece individually in plastic wrap, then put the, all in a zipper freezer bag. That way, when we need a piece of cake, we can grab one, leave it in the fridge overnight to defrost and have our cake without going to the trouble of making a cake.
It really was an easy cake to make. Tomorrow when I get on the scales will determine whether or not I ever eat a second slice of cake.
