My next Malabrigo March project was started last night. It will be a Perky Little Hat. I have three skeins of Rasta in the color Baya Electrica.
Three skeins should be enough for three hats. If they turn out nice and look like they’ll fit an adult woman, all three will go to a homeless shelter in Louisiana. I’m not sure this particular shelter group serves children so if they’re too small for an adult, I’ll find out if they have a need for hats for children and if not, I’ll find another place that will take them. I wouldn’t want to send pink hats for men. I know . . when you have little and need something to keep you warm, who cares . . but I have enough yarn that I can make something that’s better for men.
I have a dear friend in Lake Charles who does volunteer work with this group and she wants to learn to make hats to donate. If she hasn’t figured it out (she probably will) by the time I get there next, I’m going to spend some time with her making hats.
I don’t think I’m going to put a pom pom on them but I’ll wait til they’re done and see what I think.

Tell her about the loom. Those are super easy and you can make one in an afternoon! You just have to use the bulk yarn when you make them on the loom. I gave about 12 to our homeless shelter director here and she really appreciated it. I know people will appreciate anything they can get.
