When we take Rita to the vet in Abilene, we always drop her off, they do all they have to do (express glands, check eye pressure and trim nails) while Vince and I are shopping. Then we go back, meet with the vet, get her and go home.
Yesterday we weren’t going to do any shopping so we made an appointment just to get here stuff done and we’d see the vet then but Vince wanted to go by Goodwill. Then he said “We might as well go by TJ Max and since Old Navy is next door, we can go there too!” We had Rita with us but we had a crate and a blanket and she was warm enough in the car so we ran in TJ Max first. I got a pair of shoes and two shirts, put them in Vince’s cart and said “I’m going to Old Navy”. I bought a pair of jeans and two pairs of shoes. I don’t know what all Vince got at TJ Max . . teas and coffee but I’m not sure what else. He bought a couple of jackets that were on sale at Old Navy.
We left there and went to Goodwill. I walked through but didn’t see anything I needed so I went to the car to sit with Rita. I don’t think Vince bought anything there.
By then, I was hungry! I said “Can we get a salad somewhere?” No place close suited Vince and he said “There’s an Outback Steak House down from Sam’s”. I figured even a salad from there would be expensive but then I started thinking about fried calamari and a blooming onion and decided going there was way too much temptation.
We both love these Parmesan Crisps so when I saw those, I knew what I was having for lunch.
No carbs! A serving size is 25 crisps. Who eats 25 at one sitting? I think we each ate 4 or 5.
We also had Jalapeno & Garlic Stuffed Greek Olives. Yum.
The serving size is two olives. I had three. I think Vince had two. No carbs! We ate driving down the road. That was way better than leaving Rita in the car while we ate in a restaurant, being tempted by so many foods we couldn’t have and then spending way more money than we needed to spend.
I doubt Parmesan Crisps and jalapeno stuffed olives will qualify as healthy eating but it could have been way worse.
