Vince knew where there were a couple of cruddy, rusty cast iron skillets in the shop so he went and got those and ended up cleaning four of them.
His little hand grinder got too close to some vital parts!
See where that big hole is? Scary!
He said he felt it hit his pants and by that time, it was all tangled up and he had a hard time getting it loose. The good news is . . another pair of too big pants in the trash . . unless he tries to patch that hole. Let’s hope not.
Now we have four cast iron pots bakin in the oven. Vince walked in and said “Smells like cast iron in here.”

I’ve read that the best oil for seasoning cast iron is flaxseed oil. Something about the molecular structure. I have to say that the finish on my cast iron skillet is much better with flaxseed oil than when Inused canola oil. Harder and glossier.

So glad he’s ok! Those skillets look GREAT!
Rebecca in SoCal says
I was wondering about the skillet on the earlier post.
Hooboy, that was close! On the one hand, it may seem a good thing the pants were extra large; on the other, maybe they wouldn’t have gotten caught if they weren’t. Hmm.

Whew!!! That WAS a close call! Thankfully he didn’t get any closer to the tender parts than he did.Your cast iron pans look great.

Don’t those look beautiful? Close call, but probably the only way you’d get him to toss the pants!
