As soon as I finish the test knit shawl, I’ll have finished my first quarter Knit Along projects to earn maximum yardage for the ESK Yarnathon. The first quarter had to be something by Ambah O’Brien and to get maximum stars/yardage, we have to use at least 2,001 yards. The pink sweater used 1,281 yards and the shawl should use at least 900 yards.
The second quarter knit along is a fade project. Of course, we can’t start on it til April 1 but I have been thinking about it. I am going to make a Comfort Fade Cardi. I bought that pattern when it first came out in 2017. The pattern calls for DK weight but I’m going to make some adjustments and use Malabrigo Rios, which is worsted weight because (1) I love it and (2) it holds up so well and (3) it’s fairly inexpensive.
With it being worsted weight, it will definitely be a winter sweater and I wanted it to go well with jeans. I think I chose wonderful yarns!
The pattern calls for the reverse stockinette (wrong side if you ask me!) to be worn out but I’m not doing it that way. That side looks nubby to me and I like the knitted side better. Also, I’ll probably put ribbing around the sleeves.
I’m anxious to get started on it but I have over 1-1/2 months to wait. I won’t have any trouble finding projects . . that’s a sure thing!

Those are all great colors. I know you will finish other things while you are waiting. It’s not like you are a one-project woman!
