The designer wrote that this one is an “engaging knit, with carefree garter stitch and eye-catching stripes that will keep you wanting to knit just one more row” and she is so correct. I never wanted to stop knitting on this one and when I got to the end of each section, I felt like I feel when I’ve finished a good book . . a bit sad but excited for the next step.
My pictures aren’t great because it’s a chilly, windy, bright sunny day. I get much better pictures when the sun isn’t quite so bright and when the wind isn’t blowing so hard. I tried to take pictures under the shade of the overhang of the porch because I don’t want to forget and miss the deadline to finish this test knit.
Once the pattern is released, I’ll be sure to post a link to the pattern. The stripes can easily be made from leftover pieces of sock yarn. Most of the stripes don’t take much yarn at all.
My finished size, without the fringe, is 13″ 70″. It’s a great size for a wrap or two around my neck or tying.
It takes about 800 yards of the main color (2 skeins of most fingering weight). I used parts of two different mini skein sets. The yarns I used are all Sweet Georgia Tough Love Sock.
I definitely love it and it’s the colors I’m drawn to now so it will be a fun accessory.

That’s very nice. A lot of knitting for fingering weight yarn, but it’s so different and striking, it would be worth the effort.

So pretty!

Love the pattern and your colors! Would love to try this! How hard would you say it was? I’m an intermediate knitter – simple sweaters, baby sweaters, scarves and afghans.

Oh this is perfect! Gorgeous is all I can say, I will have to have this pattern. I am addicted to shawls! It’s so cold in our church that we all bring shawls, sweaters, coats and some blankets! lol

This one is actually a sweater with a hood.
