My cooking plans always include having enough food leftover that I don’t have to cook on weekends. Yesterday, we could have had chili but I had the pork in the fridge that I needed to cook. Tonight we’re having chili. For breakfast we had leftover sausage rolls, eggs and cheese.
There will be a menu plan tomorrow morning. Two of the five days are leftovers but the other three days have some yummy sounding recipes.
One thing I’ve learned . . the desserts are just too much for us. I made the lemon cookies, kept the dough in the fridge and twice last week, I baked us each one cookie. That was just enough. Next time I’ll make half the cookie dough recipe because I don’t want to keep it too long or freeze it.
The ice cream is great but I don’t need a whole bowl and Vince doesn’t really like ice cream like I do. I’ve had a jar of strawberry ice cream in the freezer and maybe once every 2 or 3 days, I grab one spoonful. That satisfies my sweet tooth but isn’t overwhelming.
It’s definitely a new way of eating/living!

It’s also kind of astonishing that the diet sort of kills sugar cravings!

I went on Whole 30 last year which is also an elimination diet for allergy purposes. I lost my cravings for sugar, breads, and other things. I only wanted dairy like cheese, cottage cheese, and sour cream. I think it took about 6 months before I had bread on a regular basis. I satisfy my sweet/cold needs by eating some semi-thawed fruit. The frozen cherries are the best, but mangos are pretty good.
